Everything you need to know about Stringra's client-side text processing architecture, data privacy guarantees, and developer utilities.

100% Client-Side · Your data never leaves this browser

Privacy & Data Security

4 questions answered

How does Stringra guarantee that my text and code remain private? +

Stringra is architected as a 100% client-side application. When you paste data into any tool—such as our JSON Formatter or Deduplicator—the processing code executes entirely within your browser's JavaScript engine. No data payload is ever transmitted over the network to any server. You can independently confirm this at any time by opening your browser's Developer Tools (F12 or Cmd+Option+I), switching to the Network tab, and watching for outgoing requests while using our tools.

What was the 2025 JSONFormatter data breach, and how does Stringra prevent that? +

In early 2025, a widely used online JSON formatting utility experienced a major security incident in which over 80,000 developer payloads were inadvertently exposed. The root cause was server-side logging: the service routed user data to remote backend servers to format it, secretly logging and caching payloads that contained production API keys, database credentials, and confidential source code. Stringra prevents this fundamentally because we do not have a backend processing server. There is no server to breach, no database to leak, and no intermediate log file.

Does Stringra store any cookies or local storage with my text? +

No. Your input and output text are held exclusively in volatile browser memory while your browser tab is open. We do not store your pasted text in localStorage, cookies, or IndexedDB. Once you close or reload the browser tab, the text in memory is completely discarded.

Can I safely use Stringra on corporate laptops subject to strict compliance? +

Yes. Many enterprise developers work under strict SOC 2, HIPAA, or ISO 27001 compliance standards that prohibit uploading source code or PII to unapproved third-party servers. Because Stringra performs all computations locally on the client machine with zero external data transfer, it satisfies strict offline-first data residency and security mandates.

Performance & Technical Limits

3 questions answered

What is the maximum file or text size Stringra can process? +

Because all calculations occur inside your browser, the processing limit is determined by your computer's available RAM and your browser's JavaScript heap limit (typically 1 GB to 2 GB per tab). For text utilities like our Alphabetizer and Duplicate Remover, Stringra comfortably processes lists containing hundreds of thousands of lines (up to 50–100 MB of raw text) in just a few hundred milliseconds.

How do you handle massive datasets without freezing the browser UI? +

For compute-intensive operations, Stringra utilizes HTML5 Web Workers. Web Workers allow JavaScript algorithms to execute on background browser threads, completely decoupled from the main UI thread. This prevents your browser window from freezing or showing 'Page Unresponsive' warnings when operating on very large documents.

Can I use Stringra tools while offline? +

Yes. Once an individual tool page finishes loading, all of its processing scripts are already downloaded into your browser cache. You can disconnect from the internet or activate airplane mode, and the formatting, sorting, and deduplication engines will continue to operate with full functionality.

Tool Capabilities & Formats

4 questions answered

What is natural sorting and when should I use it? +

Standard alphabetical sorting (lexicographical) evaluates characters sequentially by ASCII value, ordering numbers as 'item1, item10, item2'. Natural sorting recognizes multi-digit numbers within strings and sorts them according to numeric value ('item1, item2, item10'). Use natural sorting whenever you are working with filenames, version numbers, or numbered inventory IDs.

What string cases are supported by the Case Converter? +

Stringra supports 12 popular casing conventions: camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE (screaming snake), Title Case, Sentence case, lower case, UPPER CASE, dot.case, path/case, and alternating cAsE. Each format includes one-click clipboard copying.

How does the SQL IN Clause Generator work? +

Our SQL IN Clause Generator takes any list of values (from spreadsheets, CSV files, or logs) and formats them into an optimized SQL condition: IN ('val1', 'val2', 'val3'). You can select between single quotes, double quotes, or unquoted numbers, specify custom delimiters, eliminate duplicates, and wrap everything in parentheses ready to paste into your SQL IDE.

Does the JSON Formatter handle malformed or invalid JSON? +

When you paste invalid JSON into Stringra, our validator flags the exact line and character position of the syntax error (such as trailing commas, unquoted keys, or missing closing braces) so you can fix the issue immediately before formatting.

Cost & Usage Rights

3 questions answered

Is Stringra completely free to use? +

Yes. Every tool on Stringra is 100% free with unlimited scans and conversions. We do not require account registration, email signups, API keys, or credit cards.

Can I use output data commercially? +

Absolutely. You retain 100% ownership and copyright of any code, text, or data you process through Stringra. We place zero restrictions on how you use your converted files, queries, or lists.

How does Stringra support its operating costs? +

Stringra is supported through unobtrusive developer-friendly advertisements and minimal hosting costs, enabled by our static Cloudflare Pages architecture. Because we do not run expensive backend processing servers, our infrastructure overhead remains exceptionally low.

Client-Side Security vs Traditional Web Tools

When software developers and analysts paste confidential code or enterprise datasets into third-party web tools, they often assume standard HTTPS encryption makes the interaction secure. While HTTPS encrypts data in transit between your browser and the remote server, it provides zero protection once that data arrives at the server.

Once your unencrypted payload reaches a server's memory or disk, it becomes subject to server logging, intermediate database caching, third-party analytics scripts, and potential server-side compromise.

Stringra eliminates the server from the processing chain entirely. When you hit a button on Stringra, the transformation script is executed by the V8 JavaScript engine inside your own web browser. Because the computation happens in your local environment, no external entity can access or intercept your data.
